How to Use
Step 1: Prepare Your Master Model
Ensure the master model is clean, dry, and free from contaminants. For porous materials, apply a suitable release agent.
Step 2: Select the Right Grade
Choose the appropriate hardness and viscosity based on your application. Soft grades (0-15A) for complex undercuts, medium grades (20-30A) for general use, hard grades (40A) for maximum durability.
Step 3: Mix Thoroughly
Weigh Parts A and B accurately at 1:1 ratio. Mix slowly for 2-3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom. Avoid vigorous stirring.
Step 4: Degas (Optional)
For bubble-free critical applications, vacuum degas for 2-3 minutes. Our high-flow grades often don't require this step.
Step 5: Pour and Cure
Pour slowly from a single point. Cure at room temperature for 3-5 hours or accelerate with mild heat (60°C for 20-30 minutes).
Precautions for Mold Silicone:
1. Avoid contact with sulfur, tin, or amine-containing materials which can inhibit curing.
2. Store unopened containers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
3. For thin molds, use a support shell to maintain shape during casting.
4. Allow molds to post-cure for 24 hours before first use for optimal properties.
5. Test compatibility with new materials before full production.
Shelf Life:
Unopened packaging at room temperature (25°C): 12 months. Finished silicone molds can be stored for up to six months without loss of performance.
Storage and Transportation:
1.Mold silicone should be stored at room temperature in a dry, sealed container. Avoid contact with water to prevent deterioration.
2.This product is classified as non-hazardous for transportation.

FAQ:
Q1: What is platinum cured liquid silicone rubber? How is it different from ordinary silicone?
A1: Platinum cured liquid silicone rubber is a two-part, addition-cure silicone that vulcanizes at room temperature or with heat using a platinum catalyst. Unlike condensation-cure silicones, it releases no by-products, has extremely low shrinkage (≤0.1%), and is not limited by thickness—making it ideal for high-precision mold making. It is also free of harmful substances like organotin, complies with food-grade safety standards, and is suitable for applications requiring high safety and accuracy.
Q2: What is the curing time for platinum silicone? Can it be accelerated?
A2: Curing time depends on ambient temperature and silicone model. At 25°C, initial curing typically takes 3–5 hours. If heated to 60°C, curing time can be reduced to 20–30 minutes. To speed up production, heat-assisted curing using an oven or heating equipment is recommended, but ensure even heating to avoid internal stress.
Q3: Is platinum silicone suitable for food molds? Is it safe?
A3: Yes, our platinum silicone is food-grade material and FDA compliant for food contact. It is non-toxic and odorless, making it suitable for chocolate, candy, baking, ice cube trays, and other food mold applications. Ensure the mold is fully cured and cleaned before use. For first-time use, we recommend wiping with food-grade alcohol.
Q4: Why does silicone sometimes cure incompletely or remain sticky? How can this be resolved?
A4: Incomplete curing is often caused by:
Contamination: Contact with sulfur, phosphorus, tin, lead, amines, or tools/containers used with condensation-cure silicone.
Incorrect ratio: Improper mixing ratio of Parts A and B.
Insufficient mixing: Inadequate stirring leads to partially uncured areas.
Solutions:
Use clean containers and tools; avoid cross-use with condensation-cure silicone equipment.
Precisely measure and mix at 1:1 or 10:1 ratio as specified.
Mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes; degas under vacuum for complex molds.
